Introduction

This is the story of an enduring transdimensional love—a spiritual marriage that transcends the physical realm. When my partner transitioned, our bond did not end; it evolved. Through nature, synchronicities, signs, visitations, quiet moments, lucid dreaming and shared frequencies, we continue to walk together, living in an eternal partnership across two worlds. From the moment Scott and I came together, our connection was built on simplicity, freedom, our love for nature and driving the backroads. We shared a passion for the sea, small-town flea markets, campfires under the stars, diners, jazz, the blues, and the timeless magic of California’s coast and redwoods. Our love was grounded in the earth and illuminated by our passion for the open road. Long before the veil separated us, nature spoke to us in quiet, symbolic ways. Trees and animals were a frequent gentle presence on our journeys, reminding us of transformation, lightness of spirit, and the subtle threads connecting every living thing. Every relationship builds a bridge, but ours was destined to span physical life and the unseen world. Step by step, through shared love, trust, and spiritual openness, we laid the foundation for a bridge that no physical death can break.

Chapter 1: The Russian River Fox

Scott and I loved to walk. We loved feeling the trail under our feet, the quiet hum of the trees, and the feeling of simply being out in nature together. Every walk was a small adventure, but one particular hike along the Russian River gave us a story we would tell over and over again to anyone who would listen.

Walking along the sandy river path, completely immersed in the beauty of the day, a fox stepped onto the trail just ahead of us.

She was breathtaking. Her red coat was lush and perfectly groomed, her nose twitched as she caught the air, and her eyes sparkled. She didn't scurry away or act skittish. Instead, she paused right in the middle of the trail and turned her head, gazing straight at the two of us.

There was a poise and confidence in her posture.

Time stopped

Scott and I looked at her, and then we turned to look at each other, the exact same thought striking us both at the exact same moment.

“She looks like she’s going on a date!”

We both laughed, delighted by the sheer charm of it. She stood there for what seemed like a long time, letting us take in her magic, before gracefully stepping off the trail and slipping away into the bushes.

That encounter wasn't just a wildlife sighting; it felt like a brief, enchanting mirror of our own romance. Two lovers on a walk, happening upon another wild soul out on her own romantic rendezvous. For years, every time Scott and I retold that story, we could see the spark in her eyes. It was one of those playful moments that anchored us to the land, to the wild, and to each other.
